La Vergne TN is a city in Rutherford County, Tennessee. The population was 18,687 at the 2000 census. La Vergne lies within the Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro, TN Metropolitan Statistical Area. La Vergne has traditionally been a working-class industrial town, especially since the establishment of the "Interchange City" industrial agglomeration on the west side of the city.
